EBMA
In 2008 a number of European medical schools decided to join efforts to improve assessment practice in medical education. A non-for-profit organization was chartered called the European Board of Medical Assessors (EBMA).
The board of EBMA comprises of European professionals who have expertise in assessment and/or leadership roles in universities throughout Europe.
EBMA provides a number of assessment services to individual learners, medical schools and other education organizations. These services include an assessment in the cognitive domain benchmarked against a European standard (the so-called European Knowledge Test), schools needing support for progress testing and a novel assessment procedure for assessing patient-related skills in the workplace.
New schools or organizations may join this initiative. EBMA welcomes new European medical schools or European health education institutions to become EBMA member.
